Where can you get live blues seven nights a week? Right here in the
Metroplex, you'll find some of the best artists on the circuit in our own backyard! Let's
keep it that way by showing our support. Check the Calendar or the Jam page for who's
where...
The start of 2008 marks the change-over of this site to
UTF-8 (Unicode) compliancy. This ensures that the native language (English
in this case) does not come up garbled on foreign language computers.
Also, the Reviews Archive is finally getting worked up into the current
layout.
Our CD, DVD and
Book store is making progress. It's far from being finished but we have a
lot of stuff up there already including MP3 Downloads and some
DVD Previews. We do promote
Texas Artist as much as possible (and encourage you to to the same for your home state).
After its all said 'n done, we hope to have a reasonably comprehensive
catalog available.
If anyone feels we have inadvertently omitted relevant work, please feel free to drop us a
line and we will try our best to include it at the next update... Don't forget, buying a
CD, a Book or a DVD through us wont cost you any more than if you buy it directly. They
just give us a few bucks for the referral which probably wont cover the yearly server
fees. But as they say, every lil' bit helps... Thanks All
SW Blues Magazine is proud to have had the opportunity to be a sponsor
of the 22nd
Annual Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival 2007, formerly known as the King
Biscuit Blues Festival on the banks of the Mississippi River in Helena, Arkansas.
Jeff Horton informed us that his personal stock of his book about Sam Myers, titled
"The Blues Is My Story" (a Sam Myers / Jeff Horton
collaboration) and Sam's last CD "Coming From The Old School" have
sold out but they are now available through our online store.
Internet Radio is in imminent danger to fall silent! Read more here.
We have a page on MySpace now at: www.myspace.com/southwestblues
Have a look at our SW Blues
Search Engine to find stuff on our web site or the internet. (Great for all
those dead links from previous site editions)
The Band Links page has a new UK
Artist and a few more Texas artists. We have started to include "MySpace" artist
and band pages, which are linked with a small arrow
behind the artist's name (this will be
updated as info becomes available).
Our Sitemap is always good for
content reference.
There is also a new Blues Radio page
with stations that have streaming internet ready formats. A lot of them support a variety
of popular players like Windows Media Player, Winamp, Real Media and Quicktime. We thought
it best not to embed these audio streams but to let the respective players in their
stand-alone versions handle these signals. This way, the end-user has more control over
the default values like volume control, window size and other parameters, independent from
our website. Happy listening while ya browse.... We are hopeful to be able to bring you
Blues music video content in the near future...
Another little project is a Artist or Band Equipment page where y'all
can find out what kind of guitars, amps and related stuff some of the musicians use. It
will be linked off the Band Links page. Click
here for a pre-view. If anyone wants to have their gear included, send us your
info.
Also, we've got banner
ads available now... hint, hint... nudge, nudge...
say no more.... (cheap cheap...lol)
