DC & The Capitols
All Night Long
The Debut of
Dallas' Dempsey Crenshaw is here and by golly, it's a keeper. Ten all original tunes. All
good. Dempsey wails on harmonica and vocals. Danny Banda tears it up on guitar. Charlie
Lowe tickles the living poop out of the ivories. It's a truly winning combination of
talent - produced in Carrollton. This album is definitely a good time in the making. Check
out tunes like "All Night Long" or "Love Ain't Supposed to Hurt". The
compositions are catchy with great lyrics. The performances are awesome and engaging. More
fun than a barrel full of monkeys. Okay, I'm not sure exactly how fun a barrel of monkeys
would be. For one thing, it would stink to high heaven. I don't know if you've ever been
near a monkey cage before, but just imagine that and multiply it by fifty and the barrel
would smell kind of like that. Not to mention all those monkeys would be fighting and
upset about being stuffed in a barrel. And mind you, monkeys aren't the quietest creatures
on God's green earth. But I digress. It ain't the first time.
Dempsey is a
skilled harp man. Amazing mad skills on the harmonica. Check out his dazzling array of
ability on a tune like "Take Your Mind Out of My Pocket." It's more fun that a
barrel. . . oh yeah, we've been there. Seriously though, I think you could probably only
get one or two full sized monkeys in a barrel, unless they were like those little spider
monkeys or you cut them into little pieces. Danny Banda is an accomplished guitar player
that really knows how to romance a solo. Great production on this disc too. Fantastic
quality of sound. I was impressed with how subtle the sound quality was. Check out the
tune "You Made A Promise" or "Can't Help It" for some wonderful
examples of the overall care that went into producing this great CD. It's more fun than a.
