Candye Kane
White Trash Girl
RUF 1084
She's big and
she's brash and she ain't talking trash! Candye Kane has stories to tell - and she tells
them all on her new release White Trash Girl.
She tells you
right up front she's a white trash girl whose Daddy's in jail and who likes cheese in a
can. She's not shying away from it either - she walks with her head held proudly, because
isn't blues about honesty?
Speaking of honest, cut two will scare the hell out of men because there's not a man alive
not afraid of his woman dropping the "Estrogen Bomb" on him. When she tells you
"I might lie or she might bite, but whatever I do, I'll be doing it to you",
well come on guys, we know how scared you are! And with good reason!
No shrinking
violet, Candye is an encouraging activist for plus sized people. She addresses the issue
on "Big Fat Mama's Are Back In Style," and again on "Work What You
Got". Her message is clear - and it's a good one - you are what you are: now stop
whining about it, get out there, live your life and be happy!
Candye shows a softer side on both the jazzy "Misunderstood" and the beautifully
phrased "I Could Fall For You". Ladies, if you've ever looked deep in the
impossibly beautiful eyes of a man you know you shouldn't love, you'll relate from the
first lines "I could fall for you, so don't look at me that way. And when we're all
alone, be careful what you say." Candye knows that she's fallen already. And (be
honest) so have you.
Kane excels at
making the naughty into, well, naughty fun, and she does it on "Masturbation
Blues". Listen and laugh while you think of all the uptight people you know.
White Trash
Girl's 14 tracks (8 penned by Kane) are pure honesty, but this Candye is too sweet for the
narrow minded or faint hearted. If you can't take the heat of this Candye cooking, get out
of the Blues kitchen and go buy yourself some Top 40 artificially sweetened Pop.
