Carl Weathersby
In The House
(CCD11078)

I will issue my statement here. Bless you and thank you all. It's a great honor to be assuming this position. My first act as the new Pope will be to make everyone listen to the new Carl Weathersby CD. What? I'm NOT the new Pope? Who is? Rat who? Are you serious? Well, how could they not pick me? I'm the perfect man for the job! What? You have to be Catholic? Show me the Pope rule book! Oh. Dang. It does say that in the Pope rulebook. Still. Are the Cardinals sure about this guy? I demand a recount! What? Oh. Dang. They did a recount. Did they even look at my resume? Oh. They did. And they passed? Well, okay fine but I still think everyone should listen to the new Carl Weathersby CD. Sniff. I didn't want to be the new Pope anyway.

And speaking of blessings! Check out this CD! Carl Weathersby just blows me away. He's got a tremendous sound and his energy is really amazing. This is a live CD from Switzerland. Weathersby live is the bees knees and this is a great live production. I may not be the 265th Pope, but I know quality blues when I hear it. Weathersby does this amazing turn on "What's Going On" that leads into "Love, Lead Us Home" that really expresses the joys of listening to a live album. Check out the magic of a live tune like "Hobo Blues" or "Night Stomp". Weathersby is a fantastically gifted musician and vocalist who really shines in the live venue. Backing him up is a first rate band of guys. Billy Branch on harp has always been a favorite of mine and he proves why on this album.

So while I may not be the new Pope, I can console myself with this amazing new CD from Carl Weathersby. Dominos do add Noisome! I just don't know why they do that!
